Instructions

  1. Introduce the concept of gratitude to the kids and explain that it means appreciating and being thankful for the good things in their lives.
  2. Have each child decorate their own jar or container using markers or other art supplies.
  3. Distribute the small pieces of paper or index cards to the children.
  4. Instruct the kids to write down one thing they are grateful for on each piece of paper. Encourage them to think about both big and small things that bring them joy and appreciation.
  5. Once they have written down their gratitude statements, have them fold the papers and place them inside their jars.
  6. Encourage the children to add new gratitude notes to their jars regularly, such as once a day or once a week.

Discuss the positive impact of expressing gratitude and how it can shift their perspective and bring more happiness into their lives.

You can have a gratitude sharing session where the children take turns reading one of their gratitude notes aloud to the group, allowing everyone to share in the positive feelings.

Remind the children that they can always open their jars and read through their gratitude notes whenever they need a boost of positivity or to remind themselves of the good things in their lives.

This activity helps kids develop a habit of gratitude and encourages them to focus on the positive aspects of their lives. It also serves as a visual reminder of all the things they have to be thankful for.
